Gear Tooth Pitting and Wear
Repeated pressure cycling, inadequate lubrication, or particle contamination causes micro-spalling on gear tooth flanks. Pitting begins at the gear mesh and progresses to macro-spalling and tooth fracture. Progressive wear increases internal leakage, reduces displacement, and generates noise and vibration. Eternal Gear Rebuilders measures gear profile with precision instruments, assesses remaining material and tooth strength, and either re-profiles the gear (if wear is moderate) or replaces the gear set entirely. We also verify lubrication properties and filtration to prevent recurrence.
