End-of-Life Bearing and Seal Degradation
Bearings in pipe conveyor drive shafts and return rollers fail after 5–8 years under coal dust and shock loads. Seals degrade in tandem, allowing contamination and reducing grease life. Replacing one bearing leaves the others in a worn state, leading to cascading failures. A full rebuild replaces all bearings and seals as a system, restoring the sealed operating environment and extending service life by 10+ years.
