Accumulated Bearing and Shaft Wear
Lump breakers run with heavy radial and axial loads on every rotation. Bearings degrade gradually through normal operation, creating play and lateral runout. Shaft surfaces develop micro-spalling and fretting corrosion from vibration. A single bearing replacement may restore function temporarily, but worn shafts and adjacent components continue to propagate damage. Rebuild replaces bearings, machines shafts to specification, and restores alignment—eliminating the root causes that individual repairs miss.
