Gear Tooth Pitting and Spalling
Falk gears, particularly in high-torque Quadrive and Steelflex models, develop micro-pitting under repetitive contact stress. As pitting progresses to macro-spalling, tooth fragments circulate in the oil, accelerating damage to bearings and other components. Root causes include inadequate lubrication, contaminated oil, misalignment, or shaft deflection under shock loads.
